Branson ~ October 2007 ~ Day 7

Well, we are still in Branson, we spent the day hanging out at the cabin with a fire - it was pretty cold.  My Sis called with the news that the docs said my great aunt has about 6 weeks.  The cancer was too much when they started the chemo and the chemo was too much for her...it was what got her down. They are going to talk to Hospice on Friday. I told Sis that we would be straight home on Friday.  She told me she would keep me posted.

Branson ~ October 2007 ~ Day 5

We split up today and spent the day shopping.  Rog, Ry, Chunky and FIL went to Bass Pro Shops in Springfield. Me, Sis and MIL hit some shopping centers around town that we normally miss.  I did get a few Christmas gifts today...not many, but at least a start.

We went to Branson Landing and roamed around down there.  MIL bought tickets for the train.  I found Rog's anniversary gift....a nozzle for the gardenhose that works like a fire nozzle.  He thought it was cool.

Branson ~ October 2007 ~ Day 4

It was just yuck here in Branson today.  We went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum.  They also had a scavenger hunt going on for the kiddos. They had a lot of fun with that.  We were going to go to the Titanic exhibit, but it was pretty pricey, and the kiddos don't really know much about it, so we decided to hold off on that.

Branson ~ October 2007 ~ Day 3

We spent the day today at Silver Dollar City.  We had a great time - Rog and I are ride-riders and the kiddos are for the most part.  We talked them into going on Fire in the Hole.  Sis hated it, from the time I started screaming and giggling, she was crying.  Ry liked it ok and we talked him into going again, but I am not sure that he really wanted to go...he did...and laughed the entire time. There were plenty of other rides as well.  One of the smaller roller coasters about did Sis in.  She was prety queasy after that ride.  We rode the rapids - Sis and I got SOAKED!  Rog and Ry were dry, so they wanted to go again...
Sis and Ry made a wax hand - they turned out pretty cool.  Ry was scared to do it at first, but he is glad that he got one.

This was the ride that did her in - her and Ry are there in the middle in the matching shirts...you can see by her face that she was not enjoying it...and it was a pretty small roller coaster...not as bad as some of the others that she had ridden.

Branson ~ October 2007 ~ Day 2

We all got up and around this morning and headed into town.  We really had no plans, just going with the flow...

We stopped at Table Rock Lake - at the Dam Site - the kiddos played on the rock wall, walked a short trail, and then we went down to the water - there were tons of people out on Lake Taneycomo trout fishing.

From there, we went over the dam to the other side where the fish hatchery is and toured the hatchery and fed the fish.

We had lunch out, did a bit of shopping and then hung out at the cabin playing games for the evening.

Oh, and this was a really cool pic that I tried to take of the sun going down on Table Rock Lake...apparently you cannot take a pic in a car with tinted windows...

You can see the sun setting, but the big camera in the pic takes away from it...

Branson ~ October 2007 ~ Day 1

We headed out for Branson this morning...our original plans were to leave early enough to meet up with my friend Melissa, but once again, we ran into a small conflict and were not able to meet - We will one day this side of Heaven Melissa!!

On the way up, we stopped at Grinder's Ferry - part of the Buffalo River.  The river was down, so we walked out to it, and even into it.  I thought it was a bit chilly, but the kiddos waded thru it and had fun.  The temp was right at 80 out, so it wasn't to cold for them to be playing in.

We made it in to Branson, well, not really to Branson - we were staying at Big Cedar, which is about 30 minutes before Branson.  We had dinner at my inlaws cabin and they all went to the welcome bonfire while I stayed and cleaned up. The kiddos will be staying at the cabin with inlaws, Rog and I have a studio room across the lot.
