Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 10

After a great vacation, we loaded up and headed home this morning...  I was thinking it was going to be a long, L. O. N. G. day, but it wasn't too bad!  We got home at around 8pm and got unloaded and set right into getting back into the swing of things...

Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 9

Most Awesome Day Ever~ says Riley!

We went on into Panama City today to do a Shell Island/Dolphin Tour Cruise.  The plan was to be able to swim with the dolphins, but they didn't get close to us at the right time.  We did get plenty of time to see the dolphins jumping along beside us... I think Roger may have gotten some video, but he hasn't shared it with me yet.

Some of our Shell Island finds...

After we were done with the tour, we went to a local State Park and swam there.  Well, they boogey-boarded and I sat in the shallow waters digging in the sand for shells.  We ended up staying there for a few hours and coming home with tons of pretty shells and shell pieces!

Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 8

Being a Jimmy Buffet fan, we had to eat at Margaritaville while we were there.... it was a pretty neat restaurant  especially if you know Buffet songs...

This was on the ceiling:

And above the bar:

Samantha is standing in her chair....
 And I'm sitting in mine:

Landshark...

Had to eat the Cheeseburger in Paradise - but I took this because I loved the plate!!

The salt shaker came out of the airplane in the ceiling during Margaritaville song

And, no one but me thought this was funny... but, while we were sitting there waiting on our food, Samantha showed me her shoe - that was broken.

How many other people have 'blown out a flipflop' while at Margaritaville?

Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 7

Another 'tourist trap' in Panama City Beach was the Gran Maze... How fun was that??  Like a cornmaze, but year round and minus the allergies!!

I didn't really get any photos, because it is actually a race!  We all entered at the same place, same time with a punch card.  There was a clock-in at the beginning and then 4 places to visit through-out the maze and a clock-out at the end.  We all went separate directions and ran into each other periodically.  Roger made it our first, then me.  He went back in to help the kiddos and they finished within a minute of each other!

When we went back the next day, Roger had made the leader board!

The Gran Maze also had a double putt-putt course & when you purchase a ticket, it's for two days!  We had a good time both days playing putt-putt.  The kiddos did not want to go through the maze the second day... it was really hot and there was not really any shade!

After the game of putt-putt, we walked out onto the County Pier...

And then over to Peir Park Mall to the Mirror Maze & Laser Craze

Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 6

Today, we went to a place called WonderWorks.  I think there is also one in Gatlinburg, but I'm not sure, I have seen it somewhere before though.  After seeing the brochures (and the windy weather) I gave up my hopes and plans of parasailing to go to this museum.  It was a very hands-on, science museum.  We spent over 4 hours there, and could have stayed longer.

I have never been to a museum that was as hands-on as this one was!  I can't even begin to list out everything that we were able to do there - but I will share a few photos of some cool stuff!!

Bed of Nails

Design your own roller-coaster & ride it in the simulator

Wonder-wall - yes, it is like the pegs that you could put your hands on and make the design - full body size!!

Mindball - who is more relaxed?

from Mindball.. Sam won their game, Roger won ours

And finally, my fear - a rope course!  There was a three-story rope course (included in the price) that we all went up on - they all took off and left me!  After many minutes, and maybe even a few tears, I took that first step and did a few of the obstacles... not all though!

Definitely one of those things - been there, done that, no need to go again (the ropes anyways... I would LOVE to go back to WonderWorks!!)

Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 5

Today, we drove into Crestview, FL to Roger's Uncle Charlie's house to join him and Beth in celebrating baby Mila's first birthday.  She was such a cutie and had a great day!  We are honored that Charlie and Beth allowed us to be a part of their special day!

It was such a long day and a long drive that by the time we got back we just went for ice cream and back to the hotel for bed...

Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 4

I woke up early this morning and went out on the patio to this....

As I was alone on the patio, I watched this storm move out across the gulf go from the above to this ~

That was the beginning of a rather long and stormy day... We spent the a good part of the day inside, watching the wind blow the trees and the waves pound the beach...

Later in the day, it cleared up a little and Rog and the kiddos went down to the beach and waded in a little ways, but about the time they got in, the truck came by announcing that it was double red flag and no one was allowed in the water & don't get back in after she leaves - there were people in the water all up and down the coast that we could see...

They decided to go to the pool and swim. Apparently there was a lot of problem with people on the beach, because we saw this while they were in the pool...
(it says "two red flags - stay out of the water")

It was nice to just have a lazy, quiet day...we did sneak down to the beach after dark, but we mostly stayed out of the water...

Panama City Beach - September 2012 - Day 3

After we checked out of the hotel Friday morning, we headed down to the beach.  We played on the beach for a while and then started making our way to Panama City Beach.

There were plenty of beaches along the way and we stopped several times to play on them...

On the way to PCB, we stopped in Destin to have lunch with Rog's Uncle and cousin... she really liked the kiddos:

When we finally reached Panama City, this was what we walked in to...

HEAVEN on EARTH!!

Sunset was awesome!!

Love being with my hubby and kiddos!
