Sojourn to Savannah ~ September 2015 ~ Day 2

Started off this morning searching for a geocache that was close to the hotel.  Was a fairly easy find, so we were on the road rather quickly, headed to MLK National Historic Site in Atlanta, GA.

The MLK Site was pretty neat.  We spent more time there than I thought we would!  It covered several city blocks and included a museum, the house he was born in, the church he co-pastored at, the Eternal Flame, his and Mrs. Kings final resting spot, along with many other neat historic items.

Lunch was Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Atlanta.  There was a geocache close - or so we thought!  It was actually underground on the metro - so we weren't able to find it!

Atlanta traffic was horrible! And it wasn't really even late when we left - so, we weren't caught in the middle of any rush hour type traffic!

As we arrived in Savannah we thought we were in for a storm- we didn't really hit any rain, but we were blessed with seeing this awesome rainbow - arched perfectly over the expressway right into Savannah!

Upon arrival in Savannah, we went straight to our dinner reservations!!  Paula Dean's Lady and Sons!  We had the buffet and it was so good!!  Yummy bread - loaded with butter, of course- fried chicken, garlic taters, gooey butter cake!!  We were all stuffed when we left there!!  While it was good, and I'm glad I was able to go - it was pricey and I don't know if my girls will want to spend that kind of money for a meal.
